One Day Off!

It seems that all I do is work, work, work. I now divide myself between my article writing, blogging, AtTask, and Sams Club. By the end of each day I am wiped out. This Sams Club job is much harder than I expected. My poor back is really letting me have it, however, I do enjoy being around the people and all the new friends that I have made. It is nice to get out again.

Amy and Jaron are all moved up to Tremonton now. I have not seen their place but am planning on going up there on conference Sunday. I have a new calling in the ward, I am the Primary secretary....I have no idea why they would choose me when I can't even get myself organized, much less the primary...lol. This is one of those callings where I am supposed to learn something...I just know it. They are not calling me because of my skills.

I am concerned about my sister Lorna, she is not feeling so well right now. She is in my heart and in my prayers. I love her so much and don't even want to think about anything happening to her. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful sisters, and brothers, and I am so thankful that we are all so close to one another. Our mother taught us that family comes first and that they are together forever.

Thinking of Jennifer

I miss Jennifer...I was talking to Wendy the other night, recalling some of the things Jennifer did when she was young. One I remember so well was that she loved to stand out on our concrete picnic table and sing before her invisible audience. She could care less if we were watching or not, she was in her own little world, one where she was the star and totally happy. Well, then I was not as understanding as I am now, and I was a bit of tease. I would call out to her and tell her "Jennifer...telephone". She would climb down from her stage and anxiously run into the house excited that someone was calling her. Now mind you, I didn't even remove the phone from the receiver, but yet she still picked it up and said "hello?". Of course, there was no one there, but she would try one more time..."hello?", then hang up. Well, that was too much fun for me...so about 10 minutes later, I would do it again, and then again, calling her to the phone approximately 4 or 5 times before she would no longer acknowledge me. Needless to say, that was not the end...I continued to play that little prank on her for the entire summer vacation, and yet, she fell for it time after time.

Another memory I have of Jennifer is her diligence in taking notes of my bad deeds and reporting to mom. She kept a little notebook and anytime Kay or I did anything bad to her or Wendy, she would right it down and say, "I am going to tell mom". I think mom just humored her and read her notes, but I don't recall ever getting into real trouble because of Jennifers documentation.

During the time we lived in Troy, NC, Wendy had tied some yarn around Jennifers neck to pretend that she was a dog. I was the oldest one at home at the time and I was only 10 years old. The yarn had tightened around Jennifer's neck so much that she was having a difficult time breathing. We didn't have a phone at the time, and the nearest neighbor was approx. 1/4 mile away. I ran as fast as I could to the neighbors to get some help, I had no idea what else to do. They quickly drove me back to the house, and by that time, Kay I believe had cut the string. I had tried that earlier, but it was so tight around her neck I wasn't able to get anything between it and her neck. Thankfully, all turned out well.

Jennifer loved to sing, she was always singing and performing. She had the most loving and beautiful spirit of anyone you would ever meet. She was very innocent and naive, and being an older sibling, I totally took advantage of it.

I always felt that Jennifer was a bit spoiled, not only by mom, but by Kay and Wendy who totally doted on her. I think that is why Jennifer took so long to do things, she never had to, they were always done for her. Wendy would lay out her clothes for school, Kay would mother her from the time Jennifer was a baby. Jennifer never really needed to learn how to do anything for herself, which was not for her best good later in life.

I miss Jennifer so much, she had such a beautiful spirit, loved everyone. She never found fault in anyone, but always looked for the best. She had a very strong testimony and so much faith, more than I ever have. She was such an example of self-sacrifice, as she would do anything for her children.

ok...so I love the Office

Been Too Long

It has been way too long since I have posted in my own blog. I figured no one was really reading it anyway...lol. So if you are, let me know, I will be happily surprised.

I have thoroughly enjoyed having my daughter and her family back close to home. This is where she belongs, I have missed her and her beautiful family so much. We have had a bit of upset when it comes to moving....Amy and Jaron had just moved to Willard in August at the same time Justin and I moved to an apartment in Roy. Well, since they have moved there, they found a fabulous LDS private school for the kids up in Tremonton. Jaron has been driving the 100 plus miles daily to take them to and from school, so they decided it would be better to find a place closer. They found a very nice town home in Tremonton and are moving there this week. I am sad she is moving farther north, but happy she is still in Utah. It will still be closer than if I were to drive to Salt Lake, so I can't complain.

Darren and Samantha are doing great in their new school, I can already see a difference in Darren's confidence and attitude.

Ryan took his first steps this last week and is now walking like a drunken old man all over the house. I get a kick out of watching him, he is so proud of his new accomplishment.

I am working at Sams Club now part time, I can't say I love it, but I do like it. The people there are great to work with and I have a good time. The money isn't great, but I hope to change that soon. I am still working on niche blogging and this is actually starting to pay off, as well as working for AtTask daily. I can't complain, I am very blessed, I have more than enough money to get by, I am healthy and I am very happy.

Scotty is a Sophomore at Bonneville High School. He is on the swim team and he just informed me this weekend that he is going to try out for the ice-hockey team. Jared is doing great in 5th grade, he is finally taking the role of education a bit serious. He also is learning how to play the electric guitar, I'm so proud!

I am so blessed to have such an incredible family, not just my children and grandchildren, but my siblings and their families. I feel so loved by them and I hope they know how much I love them back.

Life is good!

A Day In the Life of ADD

If you are one that suffers like I do from ADD, it tends to be a constant battle in your mind. Well, ok...in my mind, is where the battle is happening. I have been sitting here at my computer, doing everything but what I know I need to be doing. It is as if my mind were on speed...but, NO, it's not...it just keeps going from on thought to another thought and I can't keep track of it.

I feel as if I need to just go to bed, with a boring book and sleep...then start all over again tomorrow. Focusing seems to be like an impossible task right now. I liken it to when I am go check on the dogs food, see that the kitchen needs sweeping, so I sweep really quick, and as I am putting the broom away, I notice that I need to bring up more cereal from the storeroom, so I go downstairs to the storeroom, and then I see there is some laundry that needs to be thrown in, so I throw in the laundry, then grab another load out of the dryer, take it to my room to fold. As I am folding the laundry, I see some mail on my dresser that I forgot to open, I open the mail, see that I need to to put it with my bills to be paid, start thumbing through the bills, getting frustrated that I am getting so disorganized. So I sit down to attempt to organize my bills and start to get them paid, so I turn on my computer, pull up my web browser, see that I have some emails....I start to read emails....and then....THE DOG STILL HAS NO FOOD!!!!

Now do you understand what my mind and day is like? So, as you can see, I am a bit unfocused today...I have so much going on in my mind that I can't keep track of it all. I become mentally exhausted...whew! Well, tomorrow will be a better day, and I will get my writing assignments done. I think it is the stress that I am under right now...it just doesn't help things.
